Phase I testing in 2005 identified the specific properties of the sacristy window's micritic limestone and confirmed the gypsum salts present in the basal area of the window. Since it was not possible to obtain sufficiently large stone samples from the window for further testing, comparable quarry stone was instead used for treatment comparison. While the Cordova Cream limestone samples used did not duplicate all the qualities of the original weathered limestone, it was, however, possible to use this stone to comparatively asses the performance and success of proposed treatments.
