In 2004 a condition survey was performed following an earlier survey in 1997, as flaking and delamination appeared to be continuing. A comparison of the graphic condition surveys over this seven-year period with ArcViewR Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software revealed an alarming increase in both the amount and rate of decay, with a two-fold increase in flaking (10% in 1997 and 20% in 2004) and a tripling in delamination (from 2% to 6%).
